Meaning of each letter:
I – Introversion N – iNtuition F – Feeling P – Perceiving

Thanks to their extraverted intuition as an auxiliary function, these people have a good disposition for understanding how their behavior appears to the outside world. The face they present tends to be shy and reserved. They tend to be calm, thoughtful, unobtrusive, and generally pleasant people, even though they maintain an outward distance. Dominant in them is introverted feeling, which craves continuity and consistency. They're characterized by idealism, and this trait of theirs often leaves them feeling isolated; they're good at interpreting symbols, since symbols play an important role in their lives, and they're able to view situations from a variety of perspectives. They have a deep sense of honor. They favor missionary-type professions and avoid business and entrepreneurship. At work, they tend to be quite adaptable, welcoming new ideas and thoughts with openness. They don't like frequent interruptions to whatever they're doing; complicated tasks don't bother them, but they can't stand too many routine details. INFPs tend toward black-and-white thinking. In both work and personal life, they can become deeply engaged, almost as if bound by a sacred oath. They value harmony and are willing to go to extremes to avoid conflict. They have a strong sense of territoriality and defend their home or their department from disruptive outside influences. They aren't inclined to assert themselves much, and sometimes even prefer to let others decide for them. To be good managers, INFPs need to be able to balance their drive to be useful with their tendency toward perfectionism, toward a perfection they can never actually achieve. They need to know when to say "enough" and get on with it, rather than continuing to refine it further. They need someone close to them they can confide in, and who will also make sure they answer this letter on time, send out that invoice by the deadline, and don't forget to book this year's vacation.

Working with an INFP?

✅ Respect their personal space.

✅ Don't attack them head-on — they avoid direct confrontation and conflicts.

✅ If you give them strong motivation, you can expect strong engagement.

✅ Don't try to tear down their ideals — these are part of who they are, but they're capable of dealing with them on their own.

✅ Don't forcefully suppress their drive to protect their surroundings from disruptive influences; introduce changes gradually.

✅ Don't expect precision and drive in routine operations.

✅ Don't hesitate to support the long, carefully prepared projects they come up with — they're waiting for that.

✅ Trust, but verify.
